Lately, we have seen a rise in unusual chocolate pairings, including many with different types of cheeses. This trend is very 2019, but we were doing it back in 2015 for events at our commissary kitchen before opening Garcia Nevett chocolate shop in South Miami. As chocolatiers, we love pairing our bonbons with wines and liquors. The idea of doing a cheese pairing was inspired by our favored combination of sweet and savory flavors. We ended up pairing our Anis y Papelon bonbon, which is based on a Venezuela pastry that is usually topped with salty cheese, with Cypress Grove's...
We thought it was important to let you know about a policy we have had in place for some time now: every time you bring your Garcia Nevett box for a refill, we'll give you 15% off on your refilled box! Applies to any size box purchased online or at the store, but you need to come in to the store to get the discount. It's a great way to get more chocolates, while reducing package use. So, there you have it: Bring your box, get 15% off!
Another packed class was held last Wednesday at Garcia Nevett Chocolatier de Miami. A fun group of chocolate lovers gathered to learn more about the history of chocolate and how it's made. Then Susana, our resident certified chocolate taster, guided us through a tasting of different origins. Afterwards, we all stepped into the kitchen to make our own candy bars. A favorite topping: bits of our homemade crunchy caramel!
Last night we had a great time hosting a professional chocolate tasting at Imago Art in Action. We gave a talk about chocolate and tasted more than 8 different chocolates from all over the world. We also tasted and paired some of our own award-winning bonbons from our chocolate shop in Miami. It was an amazing evening and we will do it again soon!
