Mini Meringues

One of our favorite desserts is meringues with chocolate sauce. These mini versions are addictive and so cute! They’re perfect as they are, but chocolate sauce on the side is always a good idea. 


 

  • Ingredients

    1. 4 large egg whites, at room temperature

    2. 1 cup sugar

    3. 1 pinch cream of tartar

    4. ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

  • Preparation

    • Separate the eggs, ensuring no yolk gets into the whites.

    • Place the egg whites in a clean mixing bowl.

    • Using a mixer, beat the egg whites on medium speed.

    • Gradually add the sugar, cream of tartar, and vanilla extract.

    • Continue whipping until soft peaks form (about 8 minutes).

    • Using a piping bag fitted with your preferred tip, squeeze out one inch meringues on a sheet of parchment or wax paper until all the batter is gone.

    • Preheat the oven to 200°F (93°C).

    • Bake for 1½ hours.

    • Turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside with the door slightly ajar.

    • Allow them to cool and dry completely.
