These round little cookies were a staple of birthday parties growing up in Venezuela. They are called polvorosas, which loosely means dusty ones as they are very crumbly and sugary!

Ingredients:

125 g vegetable shortening

125 g sugar

250 g all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Powdered sugar for decorating
Instructions:

Preheat the oven:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Make the dough:

Measure the vegetable shortening, sugar, and all-purpose flour into a mixing bowl.

Add the ground cinnamon.

Beat the mixture until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl and forms a cohesive dough.

Shape the cookies:

Roll the dough into small balls and shape them carefully as desired.

Bake:

Place the cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes.

Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool completely.
