This is Tati’s, our little sister, version of a recipe from Tasty. They are quite literally the best chocolate chip cookies. Tati always has a bag of frozen cookies in the fridge for emergencies and it is highly recommended you do the same. Double the recipe and freeze some!
Yields: Approximately 12 cookies
Ingredients:

½ cup sugar

¾ cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon salt

½ cup butter, melted

1 egg
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1¼ cups all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon baking soda
-
Chocolate chips (as desired)
Instructions:

Preheat the oven:

Preheat to 350°F (180°C).

Mix wet ingredients:

In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, brown sugar, salt, and melted butter until a smooth paste forms with no lumps.

Whisk in the egg and vanilla extract, beating until light ribbons fall off the whisk.

Add dry ingredients:

Sift in the flour and baking soda. Fold the mixture gently until just combined. Do not overmix.

Incorporate chocolate chips:

Fold in the chocolate chips. Chill the dough for 30 minutes.

Bake the cookies:

Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing evenly.

Bake for 12–15 minutes until the edges are golden brown and the centers are set.

Cool and serve:

Let the cookies cool slightly on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
